BowerBird is free to register and to create draft projects (BowerKits). You only need to pay when you wish to activate your BowerKits and allow journalists to download content.
'Activating' a BowerKit means it becomes accessible to journalists. If you don't activate a kit, journalists will not be able to publish your project. Once active you can contact journalists, they can view your project, and your content can be used in stories.
Yes. You can activate and de-activate BowerKits as you need them.
A BowerKit is a beautiful online press kit. It includes everything a journalist needs to write a story on your project, including images, text, and project team details.
We currently support USD, EUR, CAD, AUD, and NZD.
On the Business Plan and above you can turn on Access Control and choose which people are able to view and download content. On the Starter Plan, all Verified Journalists will be able to download and publish content (this is generally a very good thing for you and your practice!).
Access Control is available on the Business and Pro Plans (and Enterprise). It allows you to control downloads of your BowerKits, ensuring you can control who sees and publishes your projects.
Autopilot allows you to drip-feed your projects out to publications that match your projects. Each day, Autopilot will select a new publication and submit your project. This means your spread your media out, and avoid over-saturation of your work. It also means that BowerBird is always working to get you published, even when you're not.
BowerBird includes almost 1,000 global and local publications (and always growing), focusing on architecture and design; as well as mainstream publications such as newspapers. You can also suggest publications if they are not already included. The Starter Plan allows you to submit to websites only. The Business Plan allows you to submit to Websites + Magazines. The Pro Plan and above allows you to submit to all publication types without limit.
The exclusive tool is available on Business and above. It allows you to reach out to high value publications who require exclusivity – aka first-publication rights. This is particularly important for those looking to secure print coverage.
You can invite unlimited users to BowerBird, however plans have limits on the number of 'seats' you can have managing your paid account. You can add new 'seats' if required, which has an associated monthly cost. Contact us for more info on seats.
Our plans have limits on the number of Active BowerKits you can have. Please see our pricing table above for the limits. You can purchase individual active BowerKits with an additional monthly charge.
