From its modest beginning in 1950 as a 28-page mimeographed newsletter, Texas Architect has evolved into one of the most respected regional architectural periodicals in the nation. Published today as a bimonthly, Texas Architect informs a national readership about new work by members of the Texas Society of Architects and other practitioners with ties to Texas. Autonomously published by the Texas Society of Architects, each edition features recently completed projects and other editorial content largely written by AIA members in Texas. That collective participation was the basis of Texas Architect’s recognition by the national AIA with a 2010 Institute Honor for Collaborative Achievement.
