Description
An existing, outdated 3,264SF office building needed room to grow, with spill over being accommodated with temporary office structures needed to grow and bring the office under one roof.
Our approach introduced clerestory windows, an internal courtyard with an overhead sculptural trellis, and a modular brise-soleil-planter that shields the main building from the south sun and industrial surroundings. The elevated planter creates a buffer that brings in an ample amount of controlled light and fresh air and introduces natural vegetation where there was none on-site to speak of before.
These systems and design concepts began at the early stages of the modular layout, allowing for an expressive design through the use and emphasis of the very material crest steel creates and manages.
