Description

When considering 201 Kent in relation to the historic Grafton Bond building, the end-of-trip location becomes a defining feature that enhances the overall experience. This space is designed to create a sense of journey and surprise for the end user, emphasising the transition into the end-of-trip area as a significant moment.

Our design concept centres around the idea of an “Urban Oasis”— a serene retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. We aim to craft a space that is both unexpected and calming, offering a touch of premium quality that delights the end user with a gentle surprise. This “Urban Oasis” serves as a sanctuary where individuals can unwind and rejuvenate before or after their daily activities.

To achieve this vision, we’ve chosen a neutral and textured base palette that exudes understated luxury. The design plays with light and shadow, incorporating rich tones and intriguing textures to create a unique sensory experience. The careful selection of materials and finishes contributes to an environment that feels both sophisticated and welcoming.

The journey begins as users approach the end-of-trip location, where they are met with a sense of anticipation. As they transition into the space, the design elements gradually reveal themselves, enhancing the sense of discovery. The interplay of light and shadow, along with the tactile quality of the materials, engages the senses and fosters a feeling of tranquillity.

In addition to the aesthetic appeal, the functionality of the space is paramount. The end-of-trip facilities are designed to cater to the practical needs of the users, providing secure storage, comfortable changing areas, and well-appointed amenities. The thoughtful integration of these features ensures that the space is not only beautiful but also highly functional.

Ultimately, our goal is for users to leave the end-of-trip location feeling relaxed, refreshed, and invigorated. By creating an “Urban Oasis” within the context of 201 Kent and the historic Grafton Bond building, we strive to offer an exceptional experience that enriches the daily lives of its users.
