Description

The Austin Country Club remodel is a great example of the power of the before and after. The project was designed for San Antonio Spurs CEO, RC Buford and family. The clients had lived and enjoyed the condo for over 20 years and felt like the time was right to update and modernize. The clients are very young at heart and felt like the condo was aging them. More than anything they wanted to maximize the view out to Lake Austin and the Pennybacker Bridge.

We worked very closely with Dowbuilt to strip the condo down to the studs. We removed any and all walls to open up the view and connect spaces. The house was very dark and each level was very disconnected feeling. We added a new window into the entry to allow in more light and used the stair as a sculptural piece that visually ties all three levels together. You see the same detailing and material use as you go up and down. By using the perforated metal risers and railing we allow more light to flow downstairs into the basement lounge.

We know modern was going to be a big step for our clients so we chose to keep the palette super warm to show that modern can be warm and inviting. They love the space and are using it more than ever.

Thank you so much for the consideration!
