Questions and Answers

What were the solutions?

The final design for the home reflects a meticulous fusion of Elizabethan architecture with contemporary sophistication. The heritage charm of its Elizabethan roots is lovingly preserved, while the modern extension offers a canvas for new memories and discoveries.

Green-halt is more than a home—it's a living testament to the beauty of blending tradition with innovation, and the profound impact of designing spaces that reflect and enrich the human experience. It is here that every element harmonises to create not just a place of residence, but a foundation for a life well-lived, marked by joy, engagement, deep connections, meaningful pursuits, and the celebration of achievements.

Welcome to a home that not only stands the test of time but enriches every moment spent within its walls.

What was the brief?

Our clients are the proud owners of Green-halt, a heritage house originally built in 1938 with Elizabethan architecture. They approached us with a vision to seamlessly blend the timeless charm of their home with modern convenience through a detailed renovation and extension project. The client had three goals in mind for this endeavour; to preserve and restore the unique character and history of the house, to expand the existing living spaces to accommodate their growing family, and to incorporate contemporary amenities and technologies to meet their lifestyle needs.

What were the key challenges?

Our first step in this design process was to conduct a thorough analysis of the home’s historical significance, architectural features, and materials. This exploration was not just about preserving physical attributes, but about capturing the essence of home – a place where every moment is imbued with warmth and every space invites engagement and reflection.

Collaboration was at the heart of this transformation. Through ongoing dialogue, we tailored our design to resonate with the homeowners' desires for a space that fosters warmth, inspires creativity, and nurtures relationships. Each decision, from the layout to the choice of materials, was infused with the intention to create environments that encourage meaningful interactions and personal growth.
