Tired of white walls and understated furniture, Sequence Studio was asked by the homeowners of this heritage-listed Inner West terrace to create a bold and adventurous look within their home. The clients were after a conversation provoking interior to host dinner parties, enjoy with their families, and to create a welcoming and unique atmosphere for them to come home to.
The concept direction aimed to celebrate the existing Victorian interior detailing through rich jewel colours and wallpapers that nodded to the terraces history. But closer inspection reveals quirky details, Art Deco furniture, and unexpected colour pairings ensures the design compliments the existing terrace without re-instating.
As part of the renovation, the ground floor powder room was totally overhauled with the brief for guests to come back amused from their visit. Using some more fabulous wallpaper (featuring lemurs!), marble floor tiles and a lovely Art Deco mirror, the small yet colourful bathroom delivers an impactful result.
The design approach transformed the home and adding the much desired colour and whimsical moments. The result is a layered, colourful home to be enjoyed, celebrating the terraces grandeur and history while allowing the current owners to make the home their own that they cannot wait to share.
What was the brief?
The clients were seeking a colourful and unexpected design approach for their home that would still allow the beautiful original detailing to remain a feature.
