This magnificent 1890’s home of outstanding proportions in Sydney’s eastern suburbs was reinvented with a convivial mix of warmth and modern elegance. Placing extraordinary new elements into the period architectural style achieves a compelling mix and distinctive personality for the home. The large landscape painting by Alexander McKenzie in the dining room inspired the bold introduction of emerald green in the velvet dining chairs and the stunningly faceted foyer console.
A previously unused space was transformed into a surprising underground cellar complete with Christopher Boots uncut crystal Prometheus chandeliers, crowning a treasure trove of wines.
The brass, glass and ebonised oak custom wine racks are glamorous and serviceable. Sculptural art in the cellar takes it up another notch.
