Description

We understood the fun and that awaited us on this project right from the start. The owners have wonderful, big personalities with a bold sense of design and a love of colour. The also had a clear brief and a love for mid-century modern design. They are a family of four + one pup.
The house was a lovely single fronted and single story terrace, our aim was the create a family home which would house their beautiful print collection, include hints of mid-century modern design and inject the clients design savvy personalities into the mix.

Questions and Answers

What was the brief?

To create a vibrant family home, with a connection to the outdoor garden and MORE space for a growing family.

How is the project unique?

The bold design choices were a lot of fun. Matt and Vy encouraged us to be brave and we love the result. Also, the follow through of the concept, a concept can get lost due to budget or even just time, but Vy and Matt took it the whole way, from crazy pavers and palm trees in the garden to kitchen colours.

What were the key challenges?

Council gave us very strict parameters on the amount of space we could add, which was difficult.

Who are the clients and what's interesting about them?

The clients have the busiest lives i have ever encountered but are very organised, they both have stressful jobs, two young children, a dog, busy family commitments and still look like they love and value one another, they were doing a great job of fittings in everything life has to offer.'
