Description

This compact home (185m2 internal living approx) was designed for a young family of four. The briefing from the clients called for a sensible home that was particularly energy-effiecient and that would accommodate the changing needs of the family as the two children grew older. The response was to create a home that had a small footprint, but was able to be adapted or sub-divided into separate zones for living (namely a parents area and a children's zone). Hidden stacking doors and a concealed fold down bed convert a rumpus room into a third/guest bedroom, with a partition sliding door separating the whole zone from the main living area. The building is clad in sections of clockwork and areas of timber weatherboards, left to silver over time.
