Description

We utilised half of the existing roof structure and removed the other half to create a new raked roof structure with highlight glazing for increased ventilation and light. The living zone was extended and recreated with the kitchen functioning as an indoor outdoor serving zone. The house was re-clad and re-roofed so we essentially created a "new" building over the bones of the existing fibro (asbestos) shack.
Much of the internal work was undertaken by the owner-occupier including custom timber joinery units, flooring, roof-lining, wall boxes, doors and so forth. We also utilised some of the recycled structure from the demolished roof section for these components.
