A.I. HUB - SENAI/PR

A colored and open plan office designed to host the AI team of SENAI/PR in Londrina.

An initiative of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and the National SENAI conceived, through the FIEP/PR, the creation of the Artificial Intelligence HUB of SENAI in the city of Londrina. The objective is to promote the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies, such as big data, machine learning and cloud computing, by the industrial sector in Paraná and Brazil. The city located in the north of the Paraná state was chosen because it has a growing innovation ecosystem, allied to a solid university community.

When we were invited to participate in this initiative, we knew the importance of a space with such a proposal for the development of the region, and also the great responsibility of serving a public interest company, with rigid and well-defined processes, which required a high degree of detailing on all construction and design drawings.

The space chosen to host this initiative was a corporate slab measuring approximately 540m2 on the 30th floor of the Palhano Premium Business Condominium, located in the Gleba Palhano area, the highest point in the city and offering users a panoramic view of Lake Igapó and its urban surroundings.

At the very beginning, the biggest challenge was to organize the spaces needed in the floor plan. Despite being a large room, it has a “U” shape that naturally divides the space into three different sectors. Therefore, our approach took advantage of this shape and the position of the existing bathrooms to create a new support bar at the base of this “U”: an articulating line that recognizes the different sectors of the space, bringing together the support spaces, and thus freeing all the balconies of the property for common use. This nucleus brings together a series of meeting rooms of different shapes, sizes and purposes, each with a different ambience based on the institution's branding colors, just like small caves in a large volume painted in black, which creates an interesting contrast with the adjacent workspaces, in more neutral tones, suitable for long hours of developers' programming.



In addition, there are also two highlight spaces of the HUB. The access, articulated by a large trapezoidal-shaped piece of furniture, which through its shape creates an empty space for fast talks, with support space and varied seating areas. And also the pantry, a natural meeting point for every office, which often ends up being relegated to a simple door. Here, the pantry is shaped like a cafeteria, with a kitchen, bar and built-in tables. The position on the floor plan was carefully chosen so that it could be next to the multipurpose space and the training room, imagining a joint use of the three spaces during events with a larger number of people.

Uma iniciativa da Confederação Nacional da Indústria (CNI) e do Senai Nacional idealizou, através da FIEP/PR, a criação de um HUB de Inteligência Artificial do Senai em Londrina. O objetivo da iniciativa é promover a adoção de tecnologias de inteligência artificial, como big data, machine learning e cloud computing, pelo setor industrial paranaense e brasileiro. A cidade do norte do Paraná foi escolhida por apresentar um ecossistema de inovação em pleno crescimento, aliado a uma sólida comunidade universitária.

Quando fomos convidados a participar desta iniciativa sabíamos da importância de um espaço com tal proposta para o desenvolvimento da região, e também da grande responsabilidade de atender uma empresa de interesses públicos, com processos rígidos e bem definidos, que exigiram um alto grau de detalhamento de todos os itens da proposta.

O espaço escolhido para sediar essa iniciativa foi uma laje corporativa de aproximadamente 540m² no 30º andar do condomínio empresarial Palhando Premium, localizado na área da Gleba Palhano, ponto mais alto da cidade e que oferece aos usuários uma vista panorâmica para o Lago Igapó e seu entorno urbano.

Logo de imediato, o maior desafio do projeto foi organizar os espaços necessários na planta que, apesar de ampla, possui uma forma em “U” que naturalmente dividia o espaço em diferentes setores. Sendo assim, nossa abordagem tirou proveito dessa forma e do posicionamento dos banheiros existentes para criar uma nova barra de apoio junto a base deste “U”, uma linha articuladora do projeto que reconhece os diferentes setores do espaço, aglutinando os espaços de apoio, e liberando assim todas as varandas do imóvel para uso comum dos residentes do HUB. 

Esse núcleo reúne uma série de salas de reunião de diferentes formatos, tamanhos e propósitos, cada qual com uma ambiência diferente pautada nas cores do branding da instituição, como pequenas cavernas em um grande volume pintado na cor preta, criando um interessante contraste com as áreas de trabalho adjacentes, de tons mais neutros, adequados a longas horas de trabalho dos desenvolvedores.



Além disso, destacam-se também, dois espaços principais do HUB. O acesso, articulado por um grande móvel de formato trapezoidal, que através de sua forma cria um espaço vazio para talks rápidos, com espaço de apoio e áreas de sentar variadas. E também a copa, um ponto de encontro natural de todo escritório e que muitas vezes acaba renegada a uma simples porta. Aqui, foi proposto então uma copa nos moldes de uma lanchonete, com cozinha, bar e mesas em canto alemão. Adotamos tal posição na planta para que ela pudesse estar junto ao espaço multiuso do conjunto, anexo a sala de treinamentos, imaginando um uso conjunto dos três espaços durante eventos com um maior número de pessoas.
