Description
The Tri-climatic Biosphere is a project centrally located on the property of the Royal Family of Abu Dhabi. It consists of three different biomes which each provide different climate zones for plants from mediterranean, tropical and mild climates. This will allow to grow plants which will bear fruits year round. The project was an invited international competition that Leeser Architecture won.
Questions and Answers
Who are the clients and what's interesting about them?
The Royal Family of Abu Dhabi, which made it a top secret project with very limited site access, particularly towards the end of construction. This is one reason why there are only very few images of the final project
What was the brief?
An International competition for a "simple" greenhouse. Not until the first stage of the competition was won, it became clear that this was not a simple greenhouse, but a rather sophisticated biosphere for the royal Family of the Emirates.
