Description
Set in the leafy inner-west suburb of Annandale, this three-bedroom Federation home has been lovingly renovated to honour its heritage while embracing a more contemporary edge. With the home held in the client’s family for four generations, and parts untouched for decades, the brief was to create a cohesive, warm and inviting space—comfortable for modern living, yet true to its architectural roots.
A calm, neutral base palette was introduced throughout the home, layered with fresh accents of citrus, orange, pink, green and blue to bring personality and vibrancy. New flooring refreshed the spaces, with black and white tiles used in the bathroom and laundry—each with distinct layouts that nod to the character of traditional Federation design.
The master bedroom is a retreat of textures and soft blues, echoed through the bathroom’s blue stone vanity, shelves, and tiled flooring. The guest bedroom took its design cues from an existing rug, with new wallpaper, an upholstered bedhead, and scatter cushions adding warmth and interest. Café-style curtains soften the window seat, where green and pink hues play beautifully with the original stained-glass windows.
Painted cabinetry, walls, and ceilings unify the kitchen, bringing the whole home together. The result is a considered, comfortable and deeply personal transformation—where every detail plays a part.
