Description

The Redbud Trail house was designed for retired NFL player, Danny Amendola. The house is 5,000sf conditioned and sits on a one acre lot. Danny came us to wanting a masculine home with touches of warmness, transparency thru the house and a feeling of being outside while in.

We used a warm, dark brown, almost black brick to anchor the house and provide a masculine weight in the massing. The brick is brought inside throughout to limit the material palette and add the rich color and texture. A deep stained vertical grain hemlock ceiling provides a warm, soft compliment to the brick. A rift and quartered white oak floor provides a light and warm contrast to the darker tones.

The primary suite features a private interior courtyard and framed views of the hill country beyond. The bedroom is anchored by the brick bed wall and floor to ceiling windows. The bathroom material palette is limited to Calcutta marble floors and counters, complimented with walnut cabinetry. A picture window in front of the tub provides a beautiful view beyond.

The lap pool connects the house from the exterior as it is experienced from the entry, the main living room, main circulation hall and the primary suite.

Thank you for the consideration!

- Matt Garcia
