Description
Bluebonnet Studios represents another collaboration with local non-profit Foundation Communities and Forgecraft Architecture + Design. Located on South Lamar, this development provides affordable housing for residents within the rapidly developing South Lamar area. The design is built around 109 efficiency units over a concrete podium containing residence parking and common space for community activities. Like Capital Studios, this project was planned from the start to exceed LEED Platinum standards by including integral systems that would provide long-term energy efficiency. Social equity was also a driving force of the design which is evident in our consideration of a fully accessible building, adaptable rooms, equal access to daylight and air quality as well as community amenities. Such amenities include a media room, computer lab, flexible meeting spaces, a roof-top garden and multi-level light well.
