Description
After removing previous layers of alterations and additions from this stately home our work consisted of reconfiguring the interior layout to create a graceful progression of spaces which function for contemporary living. Foundation and structural framing were reinforced, electrical and mechanical systems were upgraded for energy efficiency, bathrooms were added, and building skin fortified. A conservatory inspired kitchen and breakfast room addition, with shuttered porch above, open the rear of the house toward a sprawling lawn and pool terrace. Interiors were redesigned utilizing much of the Owner’s meaningful possessions paired with a handful of contemporary fixtures, bold colors, and graphic patterns. Wood paneling was restored and a water-damaged mural in the formal living room was brought back to life by local artist, Meaghan Haslam.
