Dromana Primary School, situated in a scenic seaside suburb on Melbourne's Mornington Peninsula, offers stunning views of Port Phillip Bay and is positioned at the base of Arthurs Seat. Established in 1860, the school has a rich educational history.
Dromana Primary School prides itself on delivering high-quality education within a stimulating environment. The curriculum is grounded in the Victorian Curriculum's comprehensive seven-year sequential learning program. Students benefit from a diverse specialist program that includes Physical Education, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Science, Aboriginal Studies, Japanese, and Coding and Robotics. A notable feature of the school is the Boat Shed, located on the Dromana Foreshore. This facility serves as a learning centre for Science and Indigenous Studies throughout the year. The Boat Shed enriches the curriculum by providing hands-on, experiential learning opportunities that complement the school's educational offerings.
The first stage of the Dromana Primary School Master Plan, designed by Kosloff Architecture, introduces a revitalized central precinct and a new two-level teaching and learning building. Extensive stakeholder engagement with students and staff at the school as well as community ensured a facility that reflected the needs and aspirations of all. The building includes collaborative teaching spaces, staff professional development rooms, and dedicated areas for art and music. The redesigned layout strategically places new structures around the perimeter, enhancing the school's street presence and creating a spacious, landscaped internal area.
