Cookie Stories' first café project is born along with a new moment for the brand, with the renewal of its identity and the achievement of a physical space to serve customers.
The chosen location, is at Moyses Marcondes Street in Curitiba, was in a precarious condition inherited from the former tenant, necessitating a complete renovation of the premises to meet the new use of the space, always with attention to the short term for the commercial work.
The concept of the project was to create a simple and welcoming atmosphere, able to welcome clients of the most varied profiles, inviting everyone to savor the varied menu options. The first intervention was the change in the entrance of the store, previously located next to the double right foot, and now displaced for the simple right foot. This simple change not only created a hierarchy between server area and served area, but also create different sensations to the user: when entering the focus is on the counter and its products, however when finding the hall the space expands as an invitation to stay and prose.
The materiality of the design is made with a reduced palette of colours and materials, cool but balanced by the presence of wood in the tactile furniture and the coffee products. Also worthy of mention is the presence of a modulated bookcase at the back of the hall, used to separate the flow from the bathroom and kitchen, located on the mezzanine, and also serving as support for decoration, product display and support. The living spaces of the hall create an informal dynamic, offering three options to the user - low tables, high tables and a grandstand. This creates an atmosphere familiar to the user, something like a large living room where everyone is welcome.

O projeto do primeiro café da Cookie Stories nasce juntamente com um novo momento vivido pela marca, com a renovação da sua identidade e a concretização de um espaço físico para atender os clientes.
O local escolhido, localizado na Rua Moyses Marcondes no Juvevê em Curitiba, encontrava-se em condição precária herdada do antigo inquilino, tornando necessária uma completa renovação das instalações para atender o novo uso do espaço, sempre com atenção ao curto prazo para a obra comerciais.
O conceito do projeto foi criar uma atmosfera simples e acolhedora, capaz de bem receber clientes dos mais variados perfis, convidando todos a saborear as variadas opções do cardápio. A primeira intervenção foi a mudança na entrada da loja, anteriormente localizada junto ao pé direito duplo, e agora deslocada para o pé-direito simples. Esta simples mudança não somente criou uma setorização entre área servidora e área servida, mas também diferentes sensações ao usuário: ao adentrar o foco está no balcão e seus produtos, porém ao encontrar o salão o espaço se expande como um convite à permanência e à prosa.
A materialidade do projeto se faz com uma paleta de cores e materiais reduzida, fria, mas balanceada pela presença da madeira no mobiliário tátil e os produtos do café. Destaca- se também a presença de uma estante modulada em serralheria e marcenaria ao fundo do salão, utilizada para separar o fluxo do banheiro e da cozinha, localizada no mezanino, e também servindo de apoio para decoração, exposição de produtos e apoio. Os espaços de permanência do salão criam uma dinâmica informal, oferecendo três opções ao usuário - mesas baixas, mesas altas e uma arquibancada. Deste modo cria-se uma atmosfera familiar ao usuário, algo como uma grande sala de estar onde todos são bem vindos.
Who are the clients and what's interesting about them?
The clients are two young women who started a business on cookies, really good cookies. Their product attracted lot of costumers, so they reached the point to open a cafe, the first cookie's cafe in Brazil. Curious info: one of their leading products for the new opening was a cookie shot, a cookie cup with espresso.

What were the key challenges?
Two main challenges.
The first one was the existing conditions of the space, which was left completely neglected by the previous owner - a generic fashion store. This meant that we needed to conduct a full refurbishment of the space to fit the new gastronomic use in very short time.
The other challenge was about creating a whole new identity for the brand. At that time, the brand was just a deliver service, so the creation of their first physical cafe represented a big step for the brand to decide how and where to position themselves in the market.
What were the solutions?
The space consisted on two joined rooms, one with two stories and the other one with double height. The very first decision of the project was to change the entrance from the double height room to the simple height room. Our intention was simple: create hierarchy through the experience of the client - when the clients enters the space, they have close contact with the cookies, but when they turn to the other room, they have a open space which invites everyone to stay with multiple seating options.
What was the brief?
The brief was to create the very first cafe of the brand, which used to be just a deliver service in the city. The owners were working on a full rebrand process and the architecture was a big part of that.
