Apartamento Promenade

O Projeto do apartamento Promenade é uma transformação de um apartamento standard de apart-hotel em um refúgio urbano com personalidade.

A área relativamente pequena do apartamento - 42 metros quadrados, divididos em quarto, sala, banheiro e varanda - e a impossibilidade de remoção de paredes (devido ao método construtivo do edifício) limitaram as possibilidades de intervenção. Para conseguirmos uma profunda transformação do espaço mesmo diante desses obstáculos, optamos por substituir todos materiais de acabamento, como no caso do piso em granilite que agora reveste a totalidade do imóvel. Além disso, o espaço da sala foi reorganizado para uma maior integração dos usos e o layout do quarto foi inteiramente refeito.

Na sala, havia uma bancada no meio do cômodo que servia para isolar a área destinada à cozinha. Ela foi substituída por outra, mais próxima à parede, desobstruindo a passagem e criando uma área mais aberta e capaz de atender a diversas novas funções - se necessário, ela agora pode servir como escritório ou sala de leitura, por exemplo.

Um fator preponderante para essa flexibilização dos usos foi a redução da área reservada para a cozinha. Isso foi obtido com uma cuidadosa otimização do layout, a substituição dos armários, feitos sob medida, e a escolha por eletrodomésticos mais discretos e compactos - a geladeira, por exemplo, é de um modelo especial que permite que o equipamento fique embutido na marcenaria. O resultado é uma cozinha que, além de não ocupar muito espaço, é discreta e não interfere na natureza convidativa da sala.

A preocupação com o aconchego também se reflete no uso do lambri como acabamento em quase todo o apartamento. As réguas de madeira possuem uma largura de 3,5 centímetros - exatamente a mesma medida das luminárias em perfil escolhidas para este projeto. Com isso, elas puderam ser instaladas em intervalos regulares nos painéis de madeira, cada uma ocupando o espaço de uma régua e encaixando-se perfeitamente neste elemento.

O mobiliário escolhido busca um equilíbrio entre o clássico e o contemporâneo. O tema comum que une todas as peças é o fato de que todas são assinadas por grandes designers brasileiros e representam de alguma forma a produção nacional. A seleção também levou em conta a preocupação com o conforto.

This project meant a complete makeover of a standard apartment in a residential hotel, which turned it into an urban getaway filled with personality.

The relatively small space, comprising roughly 450 square feet (or 42 square meters), is divided into 4 sections - bedroom, bathroom, living room/kitchen and balcony. The type of structure used in the building means all the interior walls are load-bearing and could not be removed, limiting the extent of the remodelling.

In order to effectively transform the place despite this limitation, we chose to replace the entirety of the floorings (the whole apartment now features an elegant agglomerate stone floor), bathroom tiles and all other sorts of finishings, while also repainting the walls and adding new touches, such as the beautiful wallpaper that now covers the bedroom walls. Furthermore, the living room area was rearranged so that it would integrate more seamlessly with the kitchen and the layout of the bedroom was completely reworked.

The living room/kitchen space used to have a stone countertop separating the two. It was removed and replaced by a new, more aptly located one. The ending result is an open room that now serves multiple functions - it can also work as a reading room or an office when necessary.

A contributing factor in achieving this versatility was making the kitchen as compact as possible. The cabinets were replaced and the kitchen appliances were carefully chosen as they had to be small and unobtrusive. The fridge, for instance, is a special model made to be concealed inside the cabinets. Nothing disturbs the attention and the space is kept low-key, cozy and inviting.

Speaking of cozy and inviting, the walls in the entire apartment are now covered in wood paneling. Each piece of interlocking wood is 3.5 centimeters wide (slightly under 1.5 inches) - the exact same size as the light fittings, meaning these can be conveniently placed at regular intervals and integrate perfectly with the paneling. The choice of furniture aimed for a healthy balance between classic and contemporary works. What keeps everything together is the fact that every single piece is signed by a Brazilian designer, turning the space into a showcase of the best the country has to offer.
