The Trinity College Gateway Building provides, for the first time, a physical expression of connection between Trinity College and the University of Melbourne.
At over 4,500 square metres the Gateway Building provides comprehensive facilities for the College’s Foundation Studies programme for international students, including a 400 seat auditorium, 25 tutorial rooms with adjoining breakout spaces, drama studios, student amenities, an art gallery for the College’s collection and administration for the Foundation Studies programme.
Located at the south east corner of the College campus on Tin Alley, the building engages directly with the main University campus and visually links the College and University via a double height atrium, providing views directly through to the Chapel and College grounds.
Faceted triangular timber panels provide striking linings to the walls and ceilings of the auditorium and atrium and have been designed for optimum acoustic performance.
