Scott Sampson

As an Associate at Dubbeldam, Scott is an important bridge between design and technical expertise where he leads project teams from design through construction. Originally from Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley, he developed an early appreciation for rural landscapes and local vernacular. A graduate from Dalhousie University, Scott holds a degree in planning with a focus on community design and a master’s degree in architecture: his thesis focused on the value of architectural interventions and street activations as catalysts for urban revitalization. He worked in Germany prior to building his experience in both the commercial and hospitality sectors at several boutique design firms in Vancouver and Toronto. Highly design-driven, Scott leads project teams and personally engages with clients, stakeholders and consultants to create meaningful spaces that improve people’s lives. Scott has served as project manager for a number of Dubbeldam projects, including the award-winning Toronto offices for Slack Technologies, Power10 Fitness, and the Canadian Centre for Rural Creativity. His research acumen has proven to be invaluable on the firm’s research projects including our Prix de Rome study The Next Green and the Sidewalk Labs Flexible Unit design study.
