Russell Shubin, AIA, founded ShubinDonaldson Architects in partnership with Robin Donaldson in 1991. He is passionate about transformative design and ambitiously questions assumptions about what it means to be relevant in each context in which the firm works. Today, ShubinDonaldson Architects has offices in Culver City, Santa Barbara, and Newport and includes a thriving luxury residential practice serving international clientele, as well as mixed-use, multifamily, commercial office & retail, hospitality, and institutional project. The firm’s work has been widely published including a book in 2010 by ORO editions, entitled Live + Work, featuring 23 projects spanning the years 1998 to 2009. Since the company was founded, SD has been recognized with dozens of AIA design awards.
